Introduction

Located only 19 miles north of Kathmandu, Langtang Trek takes you to massive snowcapped mountains and glaciers. Mt. Langtang Lirung (7246m) leads this valley. Langtang Valley Trek offers varieties of rhododendron, bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks. I t also offers variety of wildlife along with wide range of cultural tradition with ancient ethnic tribes Tamangs, Yolmus and Bhotias who follow Buddhism.

Langtang Trek starts with a day’s bus ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. We follow the trail along the river to Lama Hotel and through rhodendron and pine forest we reach Langtang village .We will climb up to Kyanjin Gompa which is surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can enjoy the panoramic views, glaciers, ice falls, birds and yaks. On the way you also pass by monasteries, wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. Then we visit to Kyanjin RI for mountain sunrise views and head back to Lama Hotel, Syabrubesi and drive back to Kathmandu.

Langtang region is enriched with wildlife such as Himalayan black bear, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Thar, jackal and 30-40 species of birds. Best seasons for this trek are autumn (Sept. to Dec.) and spring (March to May).

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day : 1 ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU

    Your wonderful journey to the amazing Himalayas starts from your flight to Kathmandu. Onto your arrival our company representatives from Leaf Holidays will greet you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and escort you to the hotel for check-in and stay overnight. You will have a rest at the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

  • Day : 2 Sightseeing of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur city

    You start a guided tour to four of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square holds the palaces of the medieval Kings who ruled over the Kathmandu Kingdom. Pashupatinath houses a sacred Lingum, or the phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. The Aryaghat alongside Pashupati and on the banks of the Bagmati River is a famous funeral site for the Hindus. The Buddhists shrine of Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in the world, and one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage and tourist destinations in Kathmandu. The area of Boudhnath is also famous for over 50 Tibetan Gompas or monasteries. Swayambhu meaning the "the self-existent" is popular among the foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large number of monkey population residing in the area. Bhaktapur Durbar square and Patan Durbar Square are also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Bhakatpur is an irresistible city with an authentic local lifestyle preserved over centuries of isolation from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. While in the city square, you get to admire the Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, water spouts and the 55 Window Palace which merge together to provide an ambience of a magical outdoor theater to its visitors.   • Day : 3 Drive to Syabrubesi by Public bus/Private Vehicle(1462m) 9 Hours

    After an early morning breakfast we start our drive to Syabrubesi via Trishuli. We will have a lunch at Trishuli. After we reach to Syabrubesi we will rest at hotel and get prepared for trek.

  • Day : 4 Trek to Lama Hotel(2500m) 6 hours.

    After having morning breakfast at Syabru Bensi we begin our hike to Lama hotel. On the way we will see a mesmerizing view at the places. We pass through the dense forests with a spectacular views of mountains on the way to Lama hotel. We descend from Thulo Syabru to Pahiro where we will have a lunch. After that we ascend and reach at Lama hotel. Overnight a Lama Hotel.

  • Day : 5 Trek to Langtang valley( 3307m) 6 hours.

    After having morning breakfast we begin our trek to Langtang valley. On the way we see the mesmerizing rivers and rivulets, a pure nature with a pure astounding beauty of the mountains as well as the ways. Onto the reach of Ghodatabela we will have a lunch there. The place is popular for horses as we can see the beautiful horses in Ghodatabela. After that we begin our trek again. We will reach Langtang valley after 2 hours of walk from Ghodatabela. Overnight at Langtang.

  • Day : 6 Trek to Kyanjin Gompa(3798 meters) 5 hours.

    After having morning breakfast we begin our way to Kyanjin Gompa. We can have a beautiful view of mountains like Langtang RI 1, Langtang RI 2, Langtang Summit, Dorje Lakpa, Gyansakan, Helambu etc. We can catch a mesmerizing view on the way where we can see colorful trees on the way as its filled with greenery as well as like a rainbow. After walking for 5 hours we will reach Kyanjin. Overnight at Kyanjin Gompa.

  • Day : 7 Kyangjuma Gompa Exploration and climb Kyanjin Ri

    Kyanjin Gompa is a beautiful place with a mesmerizing view of mountains upfront. We can watch the shining mountains in-front of our eyes. We can have a beautiful view of Langtang Lirung, Langtang Summit, Dorje Lakpa, Naya Khang and many other mountains. If you want to have a panoramic view of mountains with a sunrise then we walk early to Kyanjin Ri for 2 hours then after that we can have a mesmerizing view of mountains up top from the Kyanjin Ri which is the valley up top from Kyanjin Gompa. Then we descend to Kyanjin Gompa and spend our day over there resting. Overnight at Kyanjin Gompa.

  • Day : 8 Trek return back to Lama Hotel (2500 meters) 5.30 hours.

    After having breakfast we return to Lama hotel today following the same track we came before. We will have lunch at Ghodetabela. Then we reach at Lama hotel. Overnight at Lama hotel.

  • Day : 9 Trek back to Syabrubesi

    Today we walk the same way we came through the first time. We reach the destination at Syabrubesi. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day : 10 Drive to Kathmandu

    After an early morning breakfast we drive on our way to Kathmandu via Trishuli. We will have a lunch at Trishuli. After we reach to Kathmandu we will rest at hotel.

  • Day : 11 Transfer to the airport for the final departure

    Nearly 2 hours before your scheduled flight, our company representative will take you to the airport. We are sure; you will back to your home taking amazing experience of Nepal. We hope you enjoyed trekking and want to be somewhere in the Himalayas again.
